It's not often that my boss (in this case my principal) says, "Hey I need to talk to you because you're Jewish." That could go bad in a so many ways, but my principal is really cool and I never expected anything too awkward.
Anyways, what she wanted to tell me was that she was asked by the Cleveland Jewish Federation to be on a committee for helping to improve STEM schools in Israel and she wanted me to join her. It's not often that my private and professional lives intersect in such a way, but that's exactly what I got to take part of this week.
Over the course of the week I got to show off my classroom, which one of the first FabLabs inside of a school, I was a panelist in a panel discussion, and I got to collaborate with some Israeli educators on how to implement a STEM curriculum.
We're far from done, but it was a good start. I hope to collaborate with these wonderfully dedicated educators in the future.
